A few weeks ago, I had a chance to talk to 500-or-so freshman at West Virginia University. I thought about the pressure they feel to pick the “right” major so they can find a well-paying job and launch their careers. No easy task in such a fast-moving labor market… and I’d argue we’re setting them off on the wrong path with the wrong framing and questions.
On my way home from Morgantown, I stopped to do a quick hike and reflection.
