I share a lot of advice, but I’m not sure I’ve shared the most basic:
๐ช๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ๐ณ.
That should be the baseline, but for some reason, it’s become unfashionable to say it. Maybe people worry about offending someone with different priorities.
I get it. You shouldn’t work to the detriment of your family or friends. But working hard and building deep relationships aren’t mutually exclusive.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
โข There are a lot of things you can’t control.
โข You can control your effort.
Deliver what you promise. Strike that. Deliver more than you promise.
Get up when you get knocked down.
Work late when you need to work late. Show up early.
Study more, practice more, prepare more.
It’s easier to work your ass off when you’re part of something bigger than yourself. That’s why you should never settle for trading time for money.
๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฎ๐ค๐ช๐ง ๐ฅ๐ช๐ง๐ฅ๐ค๐จ๐.
Regardless, if you want to be great and you want to find fulfillment, go the extra mile. We’d all be better off if that road had a little more traffic.
